Hey loves.
As beauty mavens, many of us knows how important it is to update our skincare regimens, as the seasons change! I love that word…”change”, but anywho – how many of you, actually take the time to spring clean your beauty routine?
The term “spring cleaning” usually resonates with packing/throwing away and making room for, however…in this feature, I am referring to the actual cleaning your day to day beauty tools and products!
Let’s begin, shall we?
Face the Facts!
Any face washes and scrubs that are currently more than 9 months old (in your collection at this very moment) needs to be thrown away. Do not continue to use…
I love to use my DIY products from recipes I’ve found from fellow bloggers, and I keep them refrigerated. Nothing lasts past 1 month, as I usually use all of my entire batch! But in case of storage, I think I might freeze excess! Store bought products have a longer shelf life as they most likely contain some form of preservative! However, this doesn’t keep bacteria from forming! Be wary of products you put on your face that is opened, used and aged (owned for longer than 4 months).

Eye of the Problem!
Toss out extremely old eyeliners, as the risk of an eye infection is not worth it!
I also wipe my eyeliners and keep them covered at all times! Now, I’m not saying toss out everything (out with the old, in with the new) as many products can be savaged, especially if stored away properly. I wash my vegan brushes with appropriate hypoallergenic solutions and try to actually use my products to completion…as well, money don’t grow on trees…but as a beauty blogger, sometimes products can go used after reviews and such…
I thrive on beauty hauls that are season /trend driven and most times, I opt to start my own style. I love mixing up and playing with the different products, especially the Argan & Shea Butter based organic, natural brands. If I love the product, I finish it…if otherwise and I need to store…I refrigerate and toss after 4 months if it comes down to it!
Here’s a chic tip from the experts at BeautyPress.com:
Update your skincare routine as well to protect your skin from the upcoming elements! As spring approaches it’s time for a lighter face cream, especially one with SPF to protect from the suns damaging rays. As it gets warmer out and skin tends to create more oil maybe reaching for a mattifying toner is a necessary adjustment to make.
