I’ve spent the last 8 years on a journey as a naturalista, and I must admit, it hasn’t all been fun or easy! The transition held many experiments, trial & error and many beauty products and tools. I guess it only made sense to be a beauty blogger. I did learn, however, what works best on my locks and what doesn’t. This also included brands that I couldn’t use, do to it containing ingredients which proved more damaging and harsh on my fragile 4a hair. I’ve seen many limp, lifeless, dull days. Yes, Pantene was on my do not use list! But something about their claim to have innovated a line, Pantene Truly Natural, catering to the ethnicity of true naturalistas, captivated me. This is how my reviews are created loves, I have to have some sort of desire present!
Paraben-free, Dye-free Pantene Truly Natural was subjected to a 3 week challenge, where I used the Clarifying Shampoo, Deep Conditioner, Shine Serum with Argan Oil and Defining Curls Styling Custard. My goal was to evaluate my tresses’ feel and look. Was it heavy? Did it look dull? Feel limp? Was it thin, coarse and lifeless?

The Beauty Experiment
I saturated my locks in luke warm water before adding Pantene Truly Natural Clarifying Shampoo. The suds action was full-on-froth. It rinsed clean out, removing gooky build-up – without stripping my hair of its natural essential essence. The water seemed to activate the smooth and silky formula, as if the combo was rejuvenating my follicles. By week three, my hair was fuller and more vibrant (bright blonde ombre edges adorn my locks).

Next, I zeroed in on the Pantene Truly Natural Deep Conditioner. Once my shampoo was rinsed, I applied the conditioner. *Beauty Tip* Leave in for 10 minutes before rinsing. The enriched (with beneficial oils) formula nourished my prior parched locks. My hair felt silky and super hydrated and by week 3, my cotton coils were boasting life.
Tame Your Natural Mane
To style and keep fresh, I added to the roots of my towel dried locks, individually – Pantene Truly Natural Defining Curls Styling Custard – to twist my locks. I even coated straight through to tips ( serious curly coils action on my lock’s golden tips), sealing in moisture and eliminating frizz. This custard has to be my fave out of the entire collection. The transparent formula left no flakes or white visibke residue like other brands and gel. The none-sticky gel kept my tresses looking “just done” for 1 week, rather than days. My curls stayed put, while maintaining their moisture and softness. You have no idea how much of an A+ this was for me, over the past 3 weeks.
To finish fierce and flawless, I smoothed the Pantene Shine Serum w/ Argan Oil every morning, to keep my shine, moisture and vibrance. It sealed in the freshness, keeping my style and color poppin’! Being a naturalista, has been one of the greatest journies, as my hair’s health and vibrancy can attest to me doing the right thing and making the best decisions – when it comes to beauty products and tools. My tresses are my best beauty asset, and the most joyful. It crowns and frames my face, complimenting any beauty palette i adorn. I love sharing my natural beauty tips and recipes/experiments, because they allow me to give back, pay it forward and share. My hair looks and feels great, naturally – the way it was meant to.
